‘Last Of Our Kind’ is an independent documentary about three kids coming of age on the front lines of climate change in three distinctly different parts of the world. This short video is the proof of concept that we produced and shot in the summer of 2019. This braided narrative story will show how a murder in Kenya, an Arctic hunt on ancestral grounds, and a sailing trip in the rising seas in the Pacific offer lessons only tribal elders can pass on, and an unseen optimism only children can bring. With one foot in tradition and the other in modernity, the kids seek a new way forward before their way of life and celebrated traditions become portraits of the past.
